100 Book Challenge

Project H.O.P.E Read All About It! Holiday Book Program distribution. Due to unforseen circumstances books could not be donated to the elementary school. We will work in the new year to provide the school with another need. Today,184 books were donated to the Hilliard House Family Shelter. They are being placed in each Christmas gift package as I type. Any left over books will be used for the welcome packages for incoming families.

Mission
Hilliard House is a 501 (c) (3) organization established in 2001 to fill a gap in housing needs for homeless women with children in the Richmond metropolitan area. The mission of Hilliard House is to assist homeless women and their children in building their capacity to live productively within the community. The goal is not only to assist families in finding permanent housing, but also to ensure that each family has access to the supportive services necessary to achieve long term housing stability.

The books donated will help each child served to begin and/or continue reading even in their difficult situation of being in a homeless shelter.
Project H.O.P.E thanks each of our donors for their willingness to help the youth of Henrico county. Your support is appreciated.

Due to the families being in the shelter system photos of the families were not released so we took photos with the volunteer coordinator.
Thank you once again for your assistance
